How the St. Nick's List gift guides and comparisons are written, dated, and corrected.
Guides are written and maintained by the St. Nick's List editorial team at Baldwin Industries, the company that operates St. Nick's List. We sign guides as a team rather than inventing a personal byline.
Guides are written for adults: parents, grandparents, and the people organising a family or group exchange. We do not write for children.
A guide starts from a question families actually ask when planning gifts, and answers it with practical steps, decision rules, and the edge cases that cause arguments.
We do not publish invented statistics, testimonials, or stories about families who do not exist. When advice depends on a fact that changes, such as a shipping deadline, a customs rule, or a price, we point you to the organisation that publishes the current figure instead of repeating a number that will go stale.
Comparison pages state only what a service publishes about itself, with the date we checked and a link to the page we checked.
Every guide shows the date its content last changed. That date is stored with the guide's source, and an automated check stops a release when a guide's text changes without its date changing. The same date is published in our sitemap and feed. We do not move dates forward to look current.
If something in a guide or comparison is wrong, unclear, or out of date, email [email protected] with the page address and what should change. When a correction changes the substance of a page, we update the page and its date.
St. Nick's List is designed to earn money from retailer affiliate links, which pay a commission when someone buys after following a link. Those relationships never decide what a guide says, which topics we cover, or how a comparison describes a service. No one can pay to be included in, or left out of, a guide or comparison.
Guides contain no paid placements. When a page carries affiliate links, its disclosure appears on that page before the first link.
Guides link to St. Nick's List pages where the product helps with the task, and we describe only what the product does today. The advice in a guide works whether or not you use St. Nick's List.
